Mihaela Popescu received her Engineering degree and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Craiova, Romania, in 1988 and 2001, respectively, followed by a Certificate of Habilitation in 2016. She currently serves as a Professor in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Craiova and is the Director of the Doctoral School of Electrical and Energy Engineering. Her primary research interests focus on power converters, adjustable-speed drives, active power filters, and power quality, fields in which she has published over 250 journal and conference papers. A Senior Member of the IEEE, she is actively involved in the IEEE Industry Applications and Industrial Electronics Societies, holds senior membership in the Association of Computer Science and Information Technology, and serves as an academic member of the Electrical Engineering Research Unit at the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER). Additionally, her expertise is recognized globally through her role on the editorial boards of 27 prestigious academic journals.
